MAINTENANCE COMMITTEE

Maintenance Committee Mission Statement

The Mission of the Iowa Section AWWA Maintenance Committee is to help facilitate and disseminate information regarding maintenance best practices in regard to treatment plants, wells, and distribution systems. Through the exchange of maintenance information from those involved, it is the goal of this committee to enhance individuals, the utilities, and the water treatment industry.

Committee Functions:

• Provide an open exchange of information concerning maintenance through periodic meetings.
• Facilitate the dissemination of information through training and instruction.
• Make recommendations to regulatory bodies for consideration when setting equipment standards relating to maintenance and equipment performance.
• Review proposed regulations, industry standards, and manufacturer’s recommendations as they affect maintenance and maintenance practices.

Committee Duties:

• Plan, organize and assist with developing the Maintenance Track for the IA-AWWA Short Courses.
• Provide information and share knowledge with section members inquiring about maintenance related questions.
