MANAGEMENT COMMITTEE

About the Committee

The Management Committee shall be composed of at least five members chosen as follows:

  • A Chair appointed by the Iowa Section Chair and approved by the Section Board
  • A representative from the Education Committee
  • The additional committee members shall be selected by the Management Committee Chair based on their interest and willingness to serve.

Duties of the Management Committee include:

  • Plan and conduct an annual Iowa Water Industry Leadership Institute;
  • The general focus of the Institute shall be to develop and promote leadership skills and abilities for new and emerging leaders in the water industry
  • Establish program content and educational format
  • Establish program and budget and registration fees. At a minimum the registration fees shall seek to cover all costs of the programs. Ideally the program should generate approximately $3000 in revenue to the Section
  • Arrange for all speakers, session dates and location, meals, and other expenses
  • Where appropriate, assist in the development of management-related topics for other Section educational events, such as Short Courses, Customer Service Seminar, and Section Annual Conference
  • Assist in the development and coordination of utility management informational resources to include utility rate comparisons, policy and practices, and financial and operational performance perimeters (benchmarking)
