The City of Sioux City has a challenging and exciting opportunity for a Utilities Superintendent. This is a specialized position that requires candidates to have at least an Iowa DNR Grade 2 water distribution license or equivalent at the time of application, with the ability to obtain a grade 3 water distribution license within one (1) year. The ideal candidate will possess a valid Grade 4 Water Distribution license or the ability to obtain this license within two (2) years from the date of employment. This position reports to the Utilities Director and supervises and plans the maintenance, repair, investigation and inspection of the sanitary and storm sewer collection systems and the water distribution system. This position includes oversight of 40 full-time employees and manages an operating budget of $6.5 million dollars. Sioux City is classified as a grade 4 system and encompasses 279 miles of sanitary sewer, 281 miles of storm sewer, and 481 miles of water main.
