Are you looking for a team environment with space to work independently? The Sioux City Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) looking for an energetic person to come work with the Wastewater Treatment Plant as a Maintenance Mechanic-in-Training.
Under the general direction of the Wastewater Treatment Plant Maintenance Supervisor, this position assists with the routine maintenance and repair of the Wastewater Treatment Plant and related facilities and equipment.
This position will work Monday through from Friday 7:00am to 3:30pm. Must be able to work outside normal working hours to include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays. On-call if needed.
Our employees are required to reside within ten (10) miles of the City of Sioux City limits which extends to other adjoining states; Iowa, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

Minimum Required Qualifications
Graduation from standard high school or GED. Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery and experience in a water or wastewater facility preferred.

Any combination of experience and training which provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Must possess a valid driver's license throughout length of employment.
Preferred:
Experience in mechanical maintenance and repair of equipment and machinery and experience in a water or wastewater facility preferred.
Special Requirements:
Must obtain an Iowa Grade 1 Wastewater System Certificate within 24 months of appointment.
